One of multiple Web sites running on the same server, each with a unique domain name and IP address. A Web server that supports VSs is called a multi-hosting Web server. The word 'virtual' implies that several such sets of programs may reside on a single machine, allowing them to serve different web sites independently, by sharing the machine resources.

From the customer standpoint it will 'feel' as if they have the server to themselves, by having limited, but guaranteed sources to use.
