PHASE #16
Finally we can paint -- and my helpers showed up in droves.

[On to Phase 17]

This first room we painted was my son Bryan's room! He and Abigail here are pitching in to help my mother paint the room. They had a blast and were able to keep most of the paint on the walls rather than on themselves.

They were "very serious" painters and were very excited to be helping. Both could not wait to move into their new rooms. We were all excited to move out of the living room and upstairs!

Bryan quickly mastered the art of painting, but wanted to paint everything including things that didn't really need to be painted. However he felt the need to be thurough!

Here is my mother (Nettie Bahlmann) pitching in. She came up for a whole weekend to paint and we got a lot done! My mother has been a HUGE contributor at all the various places I've lived. Her attention to detail, preference to use only the best paints and brushes, have surely rubbed off on me. I'm now a devote Benjamin Moore  lover. Especially satin impervo for trim paint. One trick my mother has taught me is if you select a certain tint of white for your walls when selecting your trim paint, select a non-glossy white (like satin impervo) and then add one quarter color mixture to the trim paint. This mixture will make the trim paint look too contrast from the wall paint. In fact, they will look like they were made for each other.

Here my sister (Lynette Schreen) helps paint the master bedroom as well as helped select the yellow chosen for the room color. It turned out amazing. Netter, takes after her mother too and is an amazing interior decorator.

Bad picture of Steve Schreen (my brother in-law), but here he's hanging outside the window as he helps me hang shingles. He was a tremendous helper that weekend! Steve is one of those guys that you don't have to ask for help. Rather, he just pitches in. He is the brother I've never had a great guy.

My aunt (Kathleen Eggert) comes over to help prime the master bedroom. She even signed her name on the wall in our bathroom.
