PHASE #7 of Home Remodeling Project
Enclosing the skeleton creates new lines

[On to Phase 8]

[Project Overview] [Home Design Reference] [Lien Waver Example] [Buy a House] [Heating & AC]

After the whole house had been framed, sheeting was applied to the roof and walls to provide stability, support, and most importantly enclose the rooms inside from the elements (or at least that is what we hoped).

When sheeting was applied the BACK of the house, two new roof lines came together.

Do you see a problem here with anything?  It is something I didn't notice until recently. However it never did get fixed has since become just one of those things about construction that if you don't sweat the details you may not be able to fix it later without encountering huge expense.

This is the new EAST side of the house.

This side will receive several new windows (some of which will have lake views).

Note the dormer on top has blue sky through the window. That is because the contractor had yet delivered the materials to complete its roof and as a result it was only partially done.

The FRONT of the house takes shape

This new shape will sport three new windows that are quite a bit larger than what was there previously.

Here the new space on the THIRD floor starts to take shape -- gotta love the skylight!

Notice the leaves on the floor along with the temporary railing to keep from falling down the stairwell. This also gives you a nice shot at a fall day in White Bear Lake, MN.
