Glossary
of Words and Acronyms: If you use, in your invention or in the IDR, technical terms or
technical acronyms that are not commonly known or used, please list
such terms. Example: “CRC: Cyclical Redundancy Checking, an
algorithm for performing error checking on transmitted data.” Example: “WAP: A protocol for sending data by wireless
communication, mainly in cellular systems. It is rapidly becoming a
de factor worldwide standard”. Example: “API: Application
programming interface”. Example: You would not provide a
definition for “Internet” since this is too well known to include in
a special glossary (although you might decide to include a
definition of the term “Internetworking”). The decision what to
include is up to you, but we need explanation of any unusual terms,
or any unusual definitions to well-known terms. Remember that we
also have technical expertise, so you do not need to spell out every term, only terms that you consider unusual (if there are any
such terms). |
